The Authentic Aloha Shirt
The
origins of the "Aloha Shirt" dates back to the early
`30s when Ellery J. Chun began selling shirts bearing the original
art work of his sister Ethel Chun Lum in his small King-Smith
Clothiers shop in Honolulu, Hawai'i. These vividly colored shirts
quickly became his most popular item both for his local customers
and visitors alike.
Another innovator in the Aloha Shirt craze was George Brangier
(at left) whose company, Branfleet, later became Kahala Sportswear.
